In 2008 Casa Design was opened in SOWA and then followed by Casa Outdoor showroom (Separate Outdoor Furniture showroom) and Molteni & C Flagship Store (Italian furniture, Closets and Kitchen). This year we are opening one more showroom dedicated to our contract business (Casa Contract) and we also are renovating all our existing showrooms with new designs and collections. We prefer to build from our own plans and design, but we don't rule out other projects. We pride ourselves on staying on schedule and budget with minimal call-backs when the project is finished. From dirt kicking on-site initial meetings to working with neighborhood associations, from visualization to complete construction documents and oversight we can do it all. As Austin grows, many of our projects over the past few years have been remodeling and in-fill projects and we look for that trend to continue.

This newly constructed residence, spanning over 1,076 square feet (100 square meters), presents a tailored living experience that caters to the client’s unique preferences. The dining area in the west is the most incredible area where both the morning and evening are lit, it then extends to a platform with a lush green backdrop which restricts the harsh west sunlight. The space in the residence is arranged parallel to each other with dining connecting them. Our interior designer believes design is truly an art and a science, beautiful and rational with unlimited possibilities.

The showroom was in a basement location on busy Route 9 and we were given 2 windows at the upstairs rug store as our display to get people in. In the next 10 years we grew the showroom to 2 floor of the building and another showroom across the street for lighting.

James' background is in environmental design and homebuilding -- coming up as a hands-on master carpenter. He started his own design and construction company in 1975 in College Station, Texas and was originally certified as a Professional Designer by the Texas Institute of Building Design in 1976. In the recession of the late 1980's, James worked as an architectural rep for Acme Brick Company and later as an erosion control sales consultant in New Mexico and southern Colorado, all the while still doing architectural design on the side.
Casa Design is not just a furniture showroom, it is more like a curator or a library. We represent a lot of brands and products in so many different styles, finishes and colors. The house is zoned into a living area, and two bedrooms, with a balcony and a terrace on the first floor. The spaces are planned around the dining area with a large opening that flooded the houses with natural light which offers a deliberate engagement with the outside elements. The facade of the residence has its own features from the solid flat roof, sloping roof interweaved glass lush greens. All the spaces in the residence are designed to capture the natural light outside combined with lush green views.
